STERIFLOW, leading manufacturer of overpressure batch retorts, have announced the opening of a new pilot plant at their factory in Roanne, France, which will be completed at the end of February 2009.
The main feature of the new pilot plant will be the SHAKA retort, which can dramatically reduce cycle times for heat processed foods. The benefit of the shorter SHAKA process is improved product quality in terms of taste and texture. Analysis of various foodstuffs processed with the SHAKA retort have also shown that less vitamins are destroyed by the heat process in SHAKA, as compared to processes on static or rotary retorts.
STERIFLOW welcome all enquiries for trials on their equipment; SHAKA, rotary or static pilot retorts.
